Our Fees
We believe in transparency when it comes to costs, ensuring you know what to expect from the outset. Below are our standard fees for solicitor and mediation services, as well as our initial consultation options.
- Solicitor Services: £310 per hour + VAT (£372 total)
- Mediation Services: £350 per hour + VAT (£420 total), or £175 per hour + VAT (£210 per person)
- Initial Consultation: We offer a one-off initial appointment (1 hour) for £125 + VAT (£150 total)
Additional Costs
In some cases a barrister may need to be instructed to represent you at court. The fee for this
will depend on the type of case, the length and complexity of the hearing and the experience
of the barrister.
For a children’s case (short appointment), this may typically be between £1750 + VAT= £2,100 and £2,500 + VAT = £3,000.
For a financial remedy case (say and financial dispute remedy hearing), the fee may be between £2,500 + VAT and £3,500 + VAT. In all cases, you will be advised of the cost before the barrister is instructed and funds will need to be paid before the barrister is instructed.
There may be other disbursements. In financial matters where there is a property, office copy
entries will be needed from the Land Registry at a cost of £7 per property.
There are likely to be court fees – to issue a divorce petition the fee is currently £628. To send the court a consent order costs £62. A children application has a court fee of £270. These fees change from time to time. There may be interpreter or translator fees or fees for a process server.
If you have a pension which may be shared, the cost of a report from a pensions expert is
likely to be around £3000 which cost will be split with you former spouse.
In all cases where the fee is more than £20, you will be advised of the cost before the fee is
incurred and money will be requested from you to cover the fee.
